“Platforms have great potential to implement ESG processes”: InvestmentTech EDS at the Municipal Congress of the German Association of Towns and Municipalities

InvestmentTech EDS European Debt Solutions is presenting ideas on the platform economy and municipal financing for the first time this year at the Municipal Congress of the German Association of Towns and Municipalities at the specialist forum “Sustainable Financing: Preparing Municipalities for the Future”.

“Sustainability is a driver among institutional investors,” says Sebastian Bergmann, CEO at EDS. But the rulebook for regulatory adoption of ESG factors is complex. Therefore, credit funds form the transmission belt to institutional investors and must optimally incorporate ESG processes for this. “Implementation is mandatory, not optional,” says Bergmann. “Platforms like EDS in particular have great potential to implement ESG processes at the interface between the end customer and the municipality and to support all parties involved.”

On 27 and 28 June 2022, the Congress of the German Association of Towns and Municipalities will take place in Berlin. Around 800 municipal leaders from all over Germany are expected to attend this conference, which takes place every four years. At the specialist forum “Sustainable Financing: Positioning Municipalities for the Future” on Monday, 27 June 2022, from 4.30 to 6.15 p.m., EDS CEO Sebastian Bergmann will be represented with a short presentation.
